A major player in the development of E. Leclerc’s market share, La Scalandes is implementing its master plan in the South-West of France. APRC supported the company in this process, delivering two logistics buildings in early 2024.
Although the operation was launched on the eve of the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the teams led by Claude Bouillard, Managing Director of La Scalandes, and Karim Abdellaoui, Chairman of APRC Group, demonstrated their adaptability and constructive intelligence to ensure that the initial CPI was a success for all parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few years ago, Scalandes drew up a master plan with two major objectives:
to increase the market share of the E. Leclerc’s market share, and more specifically that of its centers in the South-West region, and to reinternalize activities, notably logistics, which had previously been outsourced to specialized service providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor us, this meant rethinking the dynamics of our three organizational pillars on which our growth is based: people, buildings and IT,\u201d explains Claude Bouillard, General Manager of La Scalandes. \u201cIt is in this context that, after equipping the Mont-de-Marsan site with a building dedicated to frozen products in 2021, we entrusted APRC with the construction of this new platform, which comprises two buildings: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This ReverseLog building, positioned at the heart of a site that now comprises 6 buildings, is all the more strategic as it contributes to E. Leclerc’s ambition to optimize its carbon neutrality. Leclerc. \u201cFor us, the challenge is to ensure that our vehicles never return empty, by collecting all shopping center waste: pallets, packaging, plastics, cardboard and all other recyclable products,\u201d explains Claude Bouillard. \u201cIn the same virtuous perspective, these new infrastructures are 100% covered with photovoltaic panels for shared self-consumption with the existing buildings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe call for tenders for these two new buildings was won by APRC, who proved to be the most convincing, even though it was one of their competitors who had built the building dedicated to frozen products,\u201d emphasizes Claude Bouillard. \u201cThis type of project, especially when faced with a context as particular as that generated by the war in Ukraine and its consequences on the cost of materials, is above all a story about people. Karim Abdellaoui’s commercial acumen in the pre-sales phase and his adaptability during the construction phase, when he worked with us to find solutions that would enable us to keep within the budget defined in the CPI, demonstrate all his qualities as a conductor. The success of our joint approach to optimizing the site, striking a balance between reducing costs and cutting back on services, by doing things differently and differently than planned to stay within the initial budget, depends on him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
